Youth
One of the highest goals within the youth ministry is to see young men and women become life-long reflectors of God’s amazing grace, truth, mercy, and love. The hope is that as a ministry we may support, encourage, exhort, and assist our young people to grow in faith. That is the reason behind each and every program or event – each is designed to lead to a deeper understanding of the life-changing Gospel of Christ. For the youth ministry during the 2010-2011 school year our theme will be on the exercise of faith – an exercise of outreach and fellowship.

Middle School D-Groups
7:00 – 8:05pm | Room 102
Our weekly D-Groups (Discipleship Groups) meet in the Middle School Room following the Fourth Night Family Dinner. Our fellowship begins with group activities followed by grade/gender-specific small groups for a time of Bible Study and prayer. Don’t miss these fun and important times! Click here for more info on the Middle School ministry.

High School
High School students are invited to enjoy Fourth Nights as well! Come volunteer with the children’s ministry, use the library as a study lounge or stretch your mind and take one of the classes taught by our pastors or other great teachers. The High School Ministry will continue to host Bible Studies in various houses every Tuesday night. Grab a brochure from the racks in front of the Youth Office for more information. Click here for more info on High School Bible studies!

Media Center
Offering you a place to read, research, study, or use computers (yours or ours), Fourth’s Media Center is open until 8:30pm on Fourth Nights. This is a good time to browse through our many Christian resources—commentaries, magazines, fiction, biographies, movies and more—and avoid the Sunday crowds.

Full Semester Classes
God’s Jigsaw Puzzle

An examination of the doctrine of God’s providence in which we will look at the Biblical understanding of God’s sustaining and guiding to their destiny His people and this world.

Christianity Explored
Ron Meyer | Room 144
This class is an introduction to the Christian faith using Mark’s Gospel. Participants will discuss three questions: Who was Jesus? Why did he come? What does Jesus demand of those who follow him? In other words, we’ll explore Jesus’ identity, mission and call. You will have ample opportunity to make new friends within our church, ask questions, and share in discussion of these vital topics as we explore the Gospel of Mark.

Corruption and Reformation:
Church History from 1250-1600
Blair Smith | Room 130
This exciting and monumental period within the life of God’s people demonstrates the folly of human hubris and the glory of God’s grace as the Holy Spirit moves the Church from some of her darkest hours to a bold recovery of the centrality of God’s Word in the Reformation. Particular attention will be given to significant movements, important leaders, and the development of Christian thought.

Critical Concerns in the Culture & Church
Various teachers | Room 131
This class will look at a new topic each week, examining in the first four weeks (September 22nd - October 13th) issues of vital importance for Christian wisdom in the Culture, and in the second four weeks (October 27th – November 17th) topics of deep question or controversy within the Church. Each week’s topic and teacher will be published in the bulletin.

Participatory Bible Study: 1 John
Dick Lambert and Phil Gatti | Room 132B
This study looks at 1 John over eight weeks, where we seek to not only know the truth of Jesus but be confident and unashamed of it. If you want to study Scripture verse-by-verse within the context of discussion and warm fellowship, this class is for you.

JOBS
Lew Bachman | Room 203
JOBS is a support group that offers spiritual and practical guidance to Fourth members and friends in career transition. This program assists with some of the necessary steps needed to pursue one’s job search goals. Meetings consist of presentations covering various topics including: resumes, networking and interviews.

Fourth Night Women’s Small Groups:
“Walking with Jesus”
Parlor & Room 202A&B
This fall our Fourth Night Women’s small groups will expand to include two formats, both getting to know Jesus more deeply through his own words and actions, and striving to deepen our community in Him. Doug Greenwold’s study, Encounters with Jesus, will challenge us to see and experience our Lord as his first hearers would have. As always, no homework is required. Contact Nancy Greenwold at nancygreenwold@yahoo.com with questions.

Evening Precept Upon Precept
For those interested in studying Christ’s words a bit more in depth, Leesa Donner will lead a Precept Upon Precept study called Sermon on the Mount: How Can I Be Blessed. There is homework for this course though we will slow the pace to accommodate busy women. Contact Leesa Donner at LeesaKDonner@gmail.com for more information.
