Effective September 12, 2010, the Evening Worship Service will return to the Sanctuary.

Fourth's Small Group Oppotunities

In a large church like Fourth, it is important to get plugged into smaller groups for mutual encouragement, care and accountability. The following are some of the small groups currently active in our church.
 
Men’s Groups

  • Widower Fellowship one Sunday a month
    • Gatherings for lunch and fellowship one Sunday a month following the 11:00 service. Luncheons are held at a home not far from the church. Contact Daven Petitte, x216
Women’s Groups
  • Weekly Small Groups & Bible Studies -contact Melissa Carder, x275
    • Day and evening opportunities to grapple with Scripture and its application to our lives, and to develop rich community with peers and women of other stages of life. Click on the title above for details.
      • Fourth Night Women’s Small Groups - Wednesdays, 7-8 p.m., Chapel; Contact Melissa Carder, x275
        • rich communities centered around God's Word and its application to our lives as women.
      • Young Adult Women’s Small Groups - Thursdays, 7:45-9:30pm, College House; contact Dave O'Connell
      • Monthly Fellowship Groups

          • Monthly gatherings to build community with women in your area, to study Scripture and pray together
        • Monthly DC Ladies' Lunches - 3rd Mon. of the month, 12-1:30pm, Downtown DC; Contact Melissa Carder, x275
        • Craft Fellowship- 1st Friday of the month, 7 pm; Contact Carol Bontempo, 301-237-3308.
          • Come join us for refreshments, fellowship and a time to serve. No experience required. All are welcome to attend. All crafts are made to serve ministries locally and abroad.
      • Moms’ Groups
        • Morning Bible Study - Last 3 Wednesdays of the month, 9:30-11:30 am, Room 200; contact Melissa Carder, x275
          • This is a rich study in a rich community of women who support, encourage and walk through life with one another. Because child care is provided, we have many moms of young ones, but there are also women with grown kids, no kids and single women in our group, which makes for a wonderful mix.
        • Evening Fellowship Group - One Monday evening a month; Contact Allison Harrison at 301-365-4224 for this month's location
          • A group that provides mothers an opportunity to gather at someone’s home once a month to fellowship and discuss motherhood and other topics relevant to Christian moms.
      • Prayer Groups 
       Co-ed Groups Support Groups
      • Care for the Care Giver - contact Daven Petitte, x216
        • Care for the Caregiver is a support group for those caring for and serving family members. Congregational Care and Emmaeus House Counseling Ministry provide speakers and resources. Meets the first Wednesday of each month in conjunction with Fourth Night (except during 4th Night kickoff events).
      • Special Blessings Parent Groups - contact Kathy Lofberg, x426
        • Mom’s Group, Dad’s Group and Parent Groups gather for mutual support, encouragement and prayer. Schedule varies, contact Kathy Lofberg (Special Blessings Director) for more information.
      • DivorceCare and Continuing DivorceCare- contact Daven Petitte, x216 
        • a hopeful, caring, non-judgmental support group which includes DVD presentations, confidential discussion and prayer.
      • GriefCare - contact Daven Petitte, x216
        • a ministry designed to help one understand grief and to provide Christ-centered help through the journey of grief. Facilitated by Ron Meyer and Liz Blalock.
      Youth Small Groups
      • Dgroups – Wednesday nights, 7-8:05pm, Middle School Room; contact Rob Mulla, x215
        • Middle School (grades 6-8) small group Bible Studies. Studies begin with a large group game and then split into gender/grade specific Bible studies led by our wonderful volunteer staff.
      • KGroups - Tuesday nights, 6:15-8:15pm, in homes around the region, contact Ryan McKinnon, x230
        • Led by adult volunteers, these groups meet in Bethesda, Kensington/Silver Spring, Potomac, Rockville and Virginia and include dinner, games and a Bible Study. 
      Lay-Led Studies Neighborhood Groups

        • biweekly Bible study focusing on issues related to men and prayer time
